Book Drive at IC3 December 15-February 1

book-drive-2016As the holiday season approaches and you find yourself sorting through your children’s things, consider putting aside gently used books your child no longer reads and bringing them to IC3! We are holding our annual book drive from December 15, 2016- February 1, 2017 for the Family Reading Partnership’s Bright Red Bookshelf program. Your gently used books will be recirculated on bright red bookshelves by the Family Reading Partnership throughout the community at sites where low-income families will have easy access to them.

Books will be collected in red crates at all three IC3 sites, our main campus on Warren Road, IC3 at Kendal, and IC3 After School. Last year IC3 families donated 683 books! The annual book drive is one of many community outreach initiatives IC3 participates in throughout the year. During the book drive our pre-k teachers talk to our children about the book drive and the importance of giving back and helping others in the community. At the end of the book drive, the Family Reading Partnership will visit IC3 and meet with our pre-k students to thank them, talk about the impact of the book donations, and of course read a few books with our pre-k children!
